Wavelength Festival of Music
The Pacific Symphony is the largest orchestra formed in the United States of the last 40 years. Led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, it is recognized as an outstanding band making strides on both the national and the international scene. Since 1987, it has played its summer concerts at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater previously known as "Irvine Meadows Amphitheater" in Irvine, California. This all-new music festival produced by Pacific Symphony will be held on August 22nd – 25th at 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. This 4 day event will be the first Wavelength Festival of Music in the city that will feature Bonnie Raitt, The Airborne Toxic Event, Jason Bentley and many more.With its core purpose to enrich the human spirit through superior performances of symphonic music and community engagement, the production invited Bentley to develop an event as part of the Wavelength Festival of Music. Since the concept of the Wavelength Festival of Music sprang from the aspiration to serve Orange County and the region with a new and distinct popular music experience, it is now the festival’s goal is to connect the Symphony to a younger audience and a broader array of music fans. They aim to do this through a series of band performances playing varying genres and fun-filled musical activities for the children and parents.The first day of the festival will be opened at the Pacific Amphitheatre on Thursday, August 22, by Bonnie Raitt and a very special guest, Keb’ Mo’. The following day, Friday, August 23, The Airborne Toxic Event will be performing with the Pacific Symphony and Delta Spirit.August 24, Saturday, the public radio station KCRW Presents Z-Trip and Bonobo for an Evening Curated by Jason Bentley with members of the Pacific Symphony. And by August 25, Sunday, the festival will end with concert pianist AyseDeniz performing the hits of Pink Floyd on the grand piano as the opening act with Pink Floyd rock tribute band, Windborne, to follow playing more of the band's greatest hits.Pacific Symphony touches more than 275,000 Orange County residents from school children to senior citizens through its yearly concerts. Now it will have the chance to connect with a younger audience through a new musical experience.
