The 41st Annual Newport Boat Show
We all have our hobbies. For some, it is strapping on backpacks and lacing up trekking boots for a much-needed hike, and for others it is something a little less “level grounded.” Boating enthusiasts seek pleasure in drifting off into the horizon with the sun on their faces and the water swaying beneath their boats. This weekend, some 15,000 folks are heading down to Newport Harbor for the 41st annual Newport Boat Show. Buyers and sellers are showcasing vessels of all sizes in the Lido Marina Village. The exhibition began Thursday and continues through the weekend, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.Duncan McIntosh, the city’s Harbor Commissioner and show organizer since 1973, has seen 50 boats turn into more than 200 over the years. With the lineup strong this year, many people are said to be very interested in the selection of boats. McIntosh believes it to be the best set of vessels yet. The Newport Boat Show holds cruisers, motor yachts, and sport fishers ranging from 40- to 60-feet. Admission is $15 and available on-site and online. Children younger than 12 are admitted for free if accompanied by an adult. Free parking and shuttles to the show are available at Hoag Health Center, 520 Superior Ave., and Newport Beach. Parking in the Lido Marina Village structure is $20 per day. There is still time today to go check out the majestic structures! Torelli Realty wishes everyone a wonderful day of fun on this beautiful Sunday.
