Deep Clean for the Holidays

With the Holidays coming up, it's time to get warm and cozy. Well not so fast, with the Holidays also come guests. And while your friends and family probably won't judge you for a messy house, you still want to make them feel at home in your home. Here are some tips to declutter and get your home ready for all of the visitors this winter.

First Impressions are Everything

You want your guests to feel welcome and at home in your home. If you have friends and family staying with you during the holidays, this is especially true. Make sure your guest bathroom and bedroom are well stocked for your guests. This includes plenty of blankets, toiletries, and other items that might make one feel at home during the holidays such as their favorite drinks or snacks.

Deep Clean and Clean Some More

Most of us go into hibernation mode when it starts to get cold. Before you do this, it's time to deep clean your house. This means all of the floors, surfaces, windows, grout, etc.  It might even be worth hiring a housecleaner to get a really deep clean done. This way you will be ready for a long winter indoors as well as ready for visitors.

Clear the Clutter

Another thing to do is to clean out all of the clutter. This is a fall version of your Spring cleaning. Make sure to stow away items that you won't use during the winter as well, such as clothes and beach gear. Any other items that you may not want should be collected, boxed, and donated. Doing this will allow you to enjoy our home and not be distracted by all of the extra things that you have accumulated throughout the year. It also frees up space for your loved ones.
