Tewinkle Middle School's Successful Program
Tewinkle Middle School in Costa Mesa has started a smart program to help support students in achieving success. The program is called a “targeted-intervention model” and it works by breaking classes down into small groups of 5 or 6 students who need extra aid in specific areas. The groups focus on providing intense teaching of the skills the students need.By providing the students with almost individualized attention by teachers, aides (and even the principal!) the results have been quite impressive. More work is being accomplished in a shorter time and even more importantly the students gain a sense that they matter. What a terrific way to boost confidence and skill set at the same time!Related Posts:Cinco de Mayo at Sonora Elementary SchoolHeartwarming Estancia High School StoryCongratulations to Costa Mesa Students
