Patchwork Show: Costa Mesa Edible Edition
Get ready for another amazing Costa Mesa weekend festival this coming October 5-6, Saturday (11am-8pm) until Sunday (11am-5pm), at the SoCo Collection along Hyland Street. This weekend will be the second installment of Patchwork Edible’s bi-annual Modern Handmade festival.
Patchwork being the creation of Delilah Snell (master food preserver/owner of the eco-boutique The Road Less Traveled Store) and her niece, Nicole Stevenson (craft instructor and owner/designer of Random Nicole), was begun with the intention of celebrating handmade goods and providing a venue where all hobbyists and a variety of other people could come together to meet, shop, and sell unique handmade goods. The event, being only a bi-annual event is now on it’s 8th year of celebration, expanding its locations from Santa Ana, Long Beach, Oakland, and now Costa Mesa. Every event is guaranteed to be a fun-filled weekend filled with activities that attendees and their family could all enjoy. Since Snell and Stevenson is also known for their commitment to the environment, attendees are encouraged to bring bikes to the event rather than cars, and have their snazzy two-wheel mode of transportation checked in at the bike valet booths once they arrive. Patchwork is also known as a means for environmentalists to take part and submit to a call of action by welcoming booth operators who sell recycled, green or organic materials, and encouraging their attendees to also create their own items at the DIY crafts booths. Also as a unique factor, with every event location follows a variation of select modern eats from distinctive food trucks, exclusive to your city, popular restaurants/cafes, and also from food artisans. This weekend event will also be featuring leading icons in the Southern California food movement namely: Evan Kleiman, Aida Mollenkamp, Russ Parsons, Gustavo Arellano, Bill Esparza, Christoper (CJ) Jacobsen, Dean Kim, Ernest Miller, Laura Avery, and other numbered and notable food bloggers, foodies, ranchers, farmers, and authors from across the region. It will be a fun-filled, stomach filling and highly informative weekend for you and the family! Click http://www.travelcostamesa.com/event/patchwork-edible-at-soco/ for more details.
