With cooler air, Fall is the perfect time to tackle a number of home improvement projects. Start by a simple but thorough inspection of both the inside and outside of your home. Generally speaking, many maintenance items can be done yourself, but leave the complicated fixes to the professionals.-Clean yard of all debris and remove any waste. Rake leaves and aerate the lawn.-Inspect windows and siding and make any repairs before winter comes. Power wash all exterior parts of the house before doing any repairs.-Tune up all major appliances including HVAC. Also replace batteries in carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.-Clean out fireplace flue (may want to hire a professional if you do not have the tools) and clean out all gutters.-Wrap any exterior faucets in insulation to prevent freezing.

Winter Home Maintenance

Winter is hard on your home so you will want to make sure that you are prepared.- Inspect the roof and gutters for any damage that may have resulted from storms.-Clean out all vents (HVAC and bathroom exhaust).-Vacuum all lint from coils behind applicances.

Spring Home Maintenance

You will find that much like Fall, Spring requires a lot of the same upkeep.-Clean yard of all debris and remove any waste. Rake leaves and fertilize the lawn.-Inspect windows and siding and make any repairs before winter comes. Power wash all exterior parts of the house before doing any repairs.-Tune up all major appliances including HVAC. Also replace batteries in carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.

Summer Home Maintenance

It is much too hot during the Summer to do any heavy lifting or sweating. Take this time to relax and enjoy your home. Take the time to catch up on any home improvement projects that you have put off that you may enjoy doing. Continue to monitor your home for any decay and make improvements as necessary. If you are interested in buying or selling a property in the Costa Mesa area, Contact Torelli Realty.
