Earthquake Shakes Southern California
Every day is full of promises and hopefully some pleasant surprises, but Friday night involved an unexpected “shock.” March 28th marked the day an earthquake abruptly shook Southern California with a magnitude of 5.1. People were amazed to see the merchandise strewed across the floor, broken block walls, cracked pavement, and flipped cars throughout several counties. The quake centered in Los Angeles and sent cans flying off shelves all throughout SoCal. Luckily, no one was seriously injured.
The quake struck at about nine p.m. and was reported as far as San Diego and Ventura County. It also resulted in power outages to about 2000 customers. The U.S. Geological Survey marked up to 155 aftershocks following the rumble at magnitudes of two to three point six. In order to protect the citizens, Public Safety Officials rushed to inspect all infrastructure systems for any signs of risk or damage. Police proceeded to close off numerous streets, as well. We can thank all our trusted officials for ensuring our safety after chaos in our cities. Torelli Realty hopes everyone managed to stay safe and sound this weekend (despite the rattling of our nerves).
