Design Tip of the Week: July 7th 2014

Lucky, SO lucky!Going into people's homes, actually being INVITED in, is such an honor for us at Torelli.   And how cool is it that we see of the most innovative, creative, and super inexpensive design ideas, like a pile of unused scarfs used to diffuse light, or an old mattress spring used for a new light fixture.  The idea of repurposing (i.e. not throwing it away) is a creative approach to make your shelter...your home.
This week, we found a fantastic way to make a sliding door out of inexpensive materials!1.  Here, we turned the wood from the gate panels sideways, and cut off the rounded areas at the top.Cost: $48 each. Design Tip of the Week - J=July 9th - TorelliRealty.com  2.   Next, we mounted the sliding barn doors, and braced the back of it.Hardware Cost: Between $200 & $600 via online retailers.  Design Tip of the Week - J=July 9th - TorelliRealty.com  3.  We then slapped some wash paint on, and used old plumbing parts for the door handles.Cost: $12 each for handles  Design Tip of the Week - J=July 9th - TorelliRealty.com   A few hours well spent and the look?  We'll let you decide. :)
