Costa Mesa Schools – Estancia High School Summer Jr. Cheer Camp
Costa Mesa Schools are holding some great activities for the youth during the summer. Coming up July 21-23, 2010 Estancia High School will be hosting the Estancia Summer Jr. Cheerleading Camp. This activity is a great way for children ages 4-14 to focus on cheer and dance in a setting that will prepare them for a successful cheerleading future. The Cheerleading camp caters to both beginners and experienced cheerleaders so whether the children are newbies or want to brush up on their skills they will benefit from the instruction.According to Yumi Watanabe-Patterson there are 3 special things to note about this camp:1. All the cheers & dances will be taught by the one & only Estancia Eagle Cheerleaders2. The registration fees go toward growing the cheerleading program at Estancia High School3. In order to accomodate beginners & "pros" the day will start with a group warm up & some basic cheer instruction, then break into smaller more personalized groups, and finally gather together as a group at the end of the day to enjoy each others' company.Cheerleading is an activity that develops many great skills in the participants. Besides being a source of community spirit, cheerleading has many great bonuses like building confidence, focusing on teamwork, and encouraging the youth to workout in a fun way. Memorizing all the routines is no easy task either and learning all the cheers and dances takes admirable discipline. As a bonus, the participants of Summer Jr. Cheer Camp will receive an official Estancia Jr. Cheerleader shirt, pom poms, and hair bow. On the final day of camp they will perform at the Eagle Rally. Plus, the Jr. Cheerleaders will be cheering at an official Estancia High School Varsity Football game during the 2010 football season!Costa Mesa offers many great programs like this for the youth to enjoy.
