The Costa Mesa Sanitary District (CMSD) provides plenty of services for local residents above and beyond sewer service. They also provide curbside refuse and recycling collection services for:-telephone books-disposal of hypodermic needles-composting programs-household hazardous waste materials-waste free lunches-e-waste collections

The Sewer Lateral Assistance Program (SLAP)

Properly maintained sewers are very important for not only homeowners but for the environment as well.  The Costa Mesa Sanitary District offers a program to help prevent sewer backups and spills as well as to assist and encourage residents to clean and maintain their sewer lateral. The program may let residents be reimbursed up to $1,800 for repairs and maintenance. What is a sewer lateral? It's the underground pipe that connects a residence or business to the sewer line.How SLAP Works:It will allow CMSD to contribute 50% of the resident's expense up to a max of $1,800 per parcel in the following ways:-Up to 50% of televising the lateral interior-Up to 50% of cleaning the lateral-Up to 50% of the cost if installing a clean out-Up to 50% of lateral reconstruction costsProgram Limitations:-It's only available for residential property-Residents can only apply once every 5 years-Residents must comply with Program RequirementsTo find out more about these programs please visit http://www.cmsdca.govFor more photos like the one above please visit: http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/images/view_photog.php?photogid=1929
