Big Orange Book Festival: The Magic of Storytelling Returns to Orange County
As it was said in their website, “The Magic of Storytelling Returns to Orange County” and this coming October 11-13, 2013 (Friday- Sunday) at the Chapman University, the quiet charm and subtle- yet strong- influences of literature and great films will be celebrated at the Big Orange Book Festival once again.
At the festival you will have the freedom to explore and learn something new about what you love in literature and film. You could expect numerous booths that sell and promote books, book-related products, and booths that advocate literacy programs, and educational programs too. Besides the booths, there will also be an Authors’ Pavilion where a number of stellar authors and speakers will be asked to talk about their latest projects, their inspirations, plus a panel discussion will occur where speakers will give sound career advice for young hopefuls who wish to build a career in writing. Along with David Iserson, Derek Taylor Kent, Kevin Fagan, Ramona Ausubel, and a long list of great talent, plus a vast array of booths containing a lot of cool stuff for bookworms, the highlight of the festival has to arguably be the presence of Marvel Comics’ editor, Bill Rosemann. He is said to talk about the Marvel Universe and there will be a short preview screening of the upcoming Marvel movie The Avengers as well. For a more detailed and complete list of the festival’s whole weekend program, an app, BOB, is available at the App Store and Google Play Store. The app contains plenty of useful information including all the speakers’ bios, event schedules, and the event map. The app also allows you to create your own schedule by clicking favorite on parts of the program you wish to see, and the app would create a schedule for you. Download the app today and plan a fun-filled weekend for you today. The event does not require any tickets or entrance fees, so you can come and bring along a battalion of friends with you, if you wish. But events are on a first-come first-served basis, so be early! Parking is also free for festival goers and the event is open to all ages and anyone who has a love and interest for literature, books, and films.
